Valentine’s Day, the holiday you either love or hate. For some, it’s a heartfelt celebration filled with romantic gestures, thoughtful gifts, and quality time with loved ones. For others, it’s a commercialized reminder of failed love or the pressures of finding the perfect gift. Whether you're planning a candlelit dinner or embracing self-love, the day should serve as a reminder of the many forms love can take. This year, take Valentine’s Day into your own hands. In a relationship or single, we have some unique ways for you to have some fun this February 14th.

1 – Volunteer Time

This Valentine’s Day, spread love and kindness all around. We challenge you on February 14th, and throughout the month, to volunteer within your community. Whether you volunteer at a non-profit, the humane society or even donate items to a clothing drive, your time and actions will help bring a smile to someone’s face. When we think of Valentine’s Day we think of a celebration of love and affection, often associated with romantic gestures, but it can also be a time to honor all forms of love, including friendships, self-love and community. Over the past few years, the holiday has evolved, so let’s spread that love even more and care for all members of our communities by giving our time and resources to others.

A great way to give back is by donating a little of your time to The Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine. Founded by Robert Schoelkopf and Sheila Dean, they have been saving marine life since its inception in 1978 and they can always use volunteers with their numerous calls for help.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are in need of volunteers to assist children in need of representation. A CASA volunteer is a court appointed, trained and committed adult who ensures that each child’s individual needs remain a priority in an overburdened child welfare system.

Pampering yourself and your loved ones fits perfectly with the spirit of Valentine’s Day, offering a chance to de-stress while showing appreciation for those who matter most. At Cornerstone Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenessence Wellness, you will be feeling and looking your best this Valentine’s Day.

Taking care of your self involves a balanced approach that includes a healthy diet. Give you and your loved ones the gift of a healthy diet. Nutriamed in Egg Harbor Township is offering a cooking class that features gluten free items on February 20th.
