Seven Great Resolutions to Ring in the New Year

 2025 is loading and so are your new year resolutions. Each year, we all say the typical things like 'drink less alcohol,' 'go to the gym more,' or the ever-present generic 'eat healthier.' While these resolutions are all good things, we thought you might want to try out some different ways to better yourself this time around. So, we put our heads together and came up with seven resolutions to spunk up your new year!

1 – Play More Golf 

I’m sure all the men in our lives will love reading this one! In 2025, play more golf. Golf can be a great exercise; it allows you to be outside in the fresh air and to socialize with others. Harbor Pines Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township has been around for three decades and is still considered the number one choice for golfers in Atlantic County. So, grab your clubs and hit the green this year. Better your game and better yourself.

2 – Random Acts of Kindness

In 2025, let’s all work on spreading more kindness in the world. This resolution can be as simple as holding the door for a stranger at the grocery store or maybe giving out one compliment per day. There are so many easy ways to spread kindness and positivity in the world, so this year we challenge you to do one random act of kindness each day. These acts will not only make you feel good but could also make a stranger’s entire day.

3 – Take More Naps

This resolution is one we can all get behind. In 2025, work on prioritizing rest. Your life is busy with your job, your hobbies and your family, so this year take more time outs to rest. Work smarter not harder and allow your body and mind to take a break occasionally. If you don’t trust us, trust science. According to science, naps can help increase alertness, boost creativity, reduce stress, improve perception, stamina, motor skills, keep you younger looking, elevate your mood and strengthen memory.

4 – Treat Yourself

You work hard and you deserve to treat yourself. This year in 2025, purchase something you enjoy or want at least once a week. Whether it’s an extravagant gift, like a necklace from Roberts Fine Jewelers, or something simple, like grabbing ice cream, every treat has a way of making you feel good. When you feel good, you’re bound to be more productive and positive. So, treat yourself this new year and enjoy it.

5 – Do What You Want

This new year, do what you want to do instead of what you think others want you to do. As humans, we often get caught up in what others might think or say about us, when instead we should focus on what we think of ourselves. So, this new year, we suggest you look inside and start doing whatever you want to do. If you want to sit on the couch all day, do it. If you want to go sky diving, do it. This year do whatever it is that’s always been on the back of your mind. Get started on your bucket list and focus on pursuing your own goals. Stop caring what society expects or looks for and really challenge yourself to do what you want.

 6 – Say Yes

Make 2025 the year of YES. Sometimes, work can get in the way of living and we may find ourselves waiting for the weekend every week. While yes, work is important and we should prioritize our careers, we can’t stop living. This year, try and find time to do something fun or something you enjoy at least once or twice during the work week. Say yes to seeing a movie after work, to waking up early and watching the sunrise before heading into the office, to going out to eat during your lunch break or meeting up with friends for a post work happy hour. Whatever it is, give yourself grace and do some living. Say yes to opportunities no matter what stands in the way.

7 – Daily Handstands

Recapture your childhood joy and do a handstand a day in 2025. A handstand a day can help to keep stress away. This one will make for a very entertaining resolution and maybe a hard one. Handstands work your upper body strength, help improve balance and stability while also giving you something fun to try out each day. Just make sure no tables or valuables are in the way first!
